FUNG CHI, states: -

I a Second Coxswain N I, Fire Float. About 11' 30

a.m., 24. 3. 22, I was on board the Fire Float which was

lying opposite the garden in front of the Hongkong Club,

at Connaught Road Central. I was at the bow the Fire

Float when I heard the report of a firearm from the direc-

tion of Connaught Road Central, and heard some one call

cut "save life". I and one of the firemen named LAU PO

ran ashore to where we heard the shot. I saw a man lying

on the road. I saw a man running away, and suspected him

oth of us gave chase.

Des Voeux Road Central, and up Wardley Street, and turned

Wet along queen's Road Central. By the time the man

got to the corner of the Hongkong & Shanghai Bank, I was

only a few steps behind him. I shouted cut "catch hold

of him" and a European caught hold of the man, and held

him.

I came up and also caught hold of the man. 0.0.339

P.S. A48 came up and took charge of the man, and we all

took him to the Police Station. I did not see the

revolver found.
